Unite Sleepy Hollow Slate
on November 4th!

Our Philosophy:
Village First, Always.

In New York State, there are 532 villages, each with its own unique priorities and challenges. But one thing should unite all of them: a local government dedicated solely to the betterment of its own village.

Unite Sleepy Hollow has only one agenda; yours. Residents have spoken through the drafting of the Comprehensive Plan, the Special Permit, the Waterfront Revitalization Plan, and many other public hearings in recent years. The message has been clear - investment in Sleepy Hollow is urgent. We cannot wait any longer for results.

Although our opponents are seeking to divide our community by pushing partisan narratives, here in Sleepy Hollow we are tired of partisan polarization. The issues we face every day of parking, taxes, responsible development, and the quality of our parks and services, have little to do with the debates in Albany or Washington D.C.

That is why, a decade ago, a group of concerned residents formed Unite Sleepy Hollow. We were founded as an alternative to the partisan politics that once ruled our Village, believing that the best leadership comes from putting our community, not a political party, first.
Over the years, Unite Sleepy Hollow’s team has included 9 Democrats, 4 Republicans, and 4 Others.

Today we are proud and honored to uphold those tenets with the endorsement of non-partisan groups, such as the Sleepy Hollow PBA, and Democrats for Unite Sleepy Hollow. With the support of a diverse group of our Democratic, Republican, and Independent neighbors our movement is growing larger every day.

The Problem with Partisan Politics in Local Government

When national party politics seep into village government, the focus shifts away from what truly matters. We believe this approach carries significant risks:

  • It can prevent the most qualified and talented residents from working together.

  • It can lead to priorities being set by outside party interests, not by what residents actually need.

  • It can make it harder to secure funding and grants, which are often blocked by party-line divisions.

  • It can cloud public engagement by making every local issue about party loyalty instead of community well-being.

The Unite Sleepy Hollow Advantage

As a non-partisan, independent committee, our only loyalty is to you, the residents of Sleepy Hollow. Our approach allows us to:

Find the Best Candidates: We seek out the most qualified and dedicated candidates for the job, regardless of their party leaning.

●
Focus on Local Issues: We concentrate on policies that directly benefit Sleepy Hollow, from tax relief to smarter development.

Be Fully Transparent: We are open about our goals and priorities without fear of influence from any outside party organizations.

Engage Everyone: We actively seek input from all residents, businesses, and community groups, not just those who share a party affiliation.

●
Build Bridges for Funding: Our independence allows us to work effectively with elected leaders at the county, state, and federal levels, no matter their party affiliation, to secure grants and funding for our village.

We believe that an independent, community-first approach is what’s best for Sleepy Hollow. We hope you agree.
