USH’s ICE Policy 10/21/25

Protecting the Rights of All Village Residents

Unite Sleepy Hollow is committed to protecting the rights of ALL Village residents. It is understandable that fellow residents are extremely concerned with the events in our region regarding unlawful enforcement actions by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and USH has committed to engage with ICE only to the extent the due process rights of residents are strictly followed.

Unite Sleepy Hollow was recently endorsed by the Sleepy Hollow Police Benevolent Association, and we will continue to work closely with the Sleepy Hollow Police Department (SHPD), Chief Bueti, and our police consultant John Hodges, to ensure the following:

1. Will continue to do everything in its power to protect the rights of ALL the residents of Sleepy Hollow REGARDLESS of their immigration status.

2. Continue to support the policy stating that the SHPD and any of its personnel will not, in any way, provide assistance to ICE or its agents in connection with the execution of an administrative or civil warrant against a resident of Sleepy Hollow regarding their immigration status.

3. Continue to support the policy stating that the SHPD will provide assistance, if requested, to ICE or other federal, state, county or town agency in connection with the execution of a judicial warrant against a resident of Sleepy Hollow ONLY if they are wanted for a felony, violent or other major crime regardless of their immigration status.
